Honestech Hd Dvr 2.5

I figured this out by a simple computer glitch. This software doesn't like windows 8. So all you have to do is change the compatability settings to windows 7. So in windows 8 I'm not sure how you do this but even with my windows 8 on my computer I still use old desktop settings format. If you can switch over to old desktop like windows 7 what I did was on the honestech tvr 2.4 icon on your desktop using old desktop format layout like windows 7 was I right clicked on the icon and click troubleshoot compatibility settings. When prompted it will ask you what problems occured. Check off the last box which says your problem is not listed. The next box that prompts on your screen says did this software work with windows 8, 7, etc...... click on windows 7. Save your settings, restart your computer. If and when this resolves your first problem and you get it to work then I can help you with the settings if needed. If this doesn't work you may have some wires that they color coded wrong. Like sometimes your video is red instead of yellow or even white.

The Honestech HD DVR 2.5 software that came with the card has very limited options.It only records in MPEG2 and only at 720 x 576, 1280 x 720 and 1920 x 1080. When I watch TV with this card the picture is stable, but when I try capture, it almost splits in two,top and bottom, which don't quite align properly.
