Star Wars Rebels Spark Of

Sep 26, 2014  So here we are at Star Wars Rebels, the first video entry into the new Star Wars EU. So let's see where to begin. It has been 6 years since we left Kanan and Hera at the end of A New Dawn(the first novel in the New EU), and apparently they have been busy. But that is jumping ahead a little. Star Wars Rebels 'Spark of Rebellion'. The movie and series take place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, in which the Galactic Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion. While the crew of the Ghost is on a mission to help innocent citizens of the Outer Rim planet of Lothal, street orphan Ezra inadvertently interferes and is forced to escape aboard the Ghost in order to survive the Imperial pursuit. The boy is surprised to find that this crew consists of freedom fighters. Watch Star Wars Rebels - Season 1, Episode 1 - Spark of Rebellion: Rebels aboard the starship Ghost battle the evil Galactic Empire when it tries to tighten its powerful grip on the galaxy. Star Wars Rebels: ”Spark Of Rebellion”. A franchise ruined by inexplicable edits to the original trilogy and terrible prequels now belonged to a company generally (and disingenuously) known for childish pablum. One of the results of the purchase was the effective cancellation of The Clone Wars, which aired on Cartoon Network for five seasons. Please note this is a region B Blu-ray and will require a region B or region free Blu-ray player in order to play. Experience the spectacular adventure of STAR WARS The Complete Saga in a way only Blu-ray can deliver.

Their ominous presence is a cloud over the planet, squashing any hope of freedom or a better life, especially for 14-year-old orphan Ezra Bridger. But the young con artist soon finds that destiny has other plans for him, as he encounters a small band of rebels who dare to strike back against the Empire.[2]

Plot Summary[edit]

Star Wars Rebels Wikipedia

At some point after Order 66, during the time of the Galactic Empire, The Inquisitor stands on the bridge of a Star Destroyer, speaking to Darth Vader over a hologram. Vader gives the Inquisitor orders to hunt down and eliminate any Force users before they can become Jedi. The Inquisitor takes his new orders in stride, promising Vader he will succeed.

Fourteen years after the establishment of the Empire, Ezra Bridger, a teenage orphan, lives in an abandoned communications tower. A Star Destroyer flies over in the direction of Capital City, the primary settlement on the Outer Rim world of Lothal, and Ezra rushes to follow. Once in the city, he happens upon a group of Stormtroopers and Imperial officers Cumberlayne Aresko and Myles Grint harassing a merchant who displays open dislike for the Empire. For his words, Aresko charges the merchant with treason. Ezra sneakily steps in, stealing Aresko's comlink in order to impersonate an Imperial officer and divert the group’s attention elsewhere. When the Imperials run off to deal with the supposed emergency, the merchant thanks Ezra and Ezra steals some fruits to eat.

Climbing onto a roof, Ezra finds a good vantage point to watch Aresko and Grint, who are unable to locate the “emergency” but instead find another Imperial officer, Yogar Lyste, transferring a number of important crates. As he watches, Ezra feels the presence of Kanan Jarrus, a former Jedi who survived Order 66, through the Force, though he does not realize his own ability and remains hidden. Kanan likewise senses Ezra, but is focused on attempting to steal the supply crates overseen by Lyste. Sabine Wren, a Mandalorian, casually tosses a thermal detonator near the troops, forcing them to flee with the crates on speeders. Kanan heads off the speeders and, with the help of Garazeb Orrelios, a Lasat, manages to fend off the Imperial troops. Ezra, watching the operation go down, leaps onto one of the speeders and drives away. Sabine manages to get one of the crates from Ezra, but he manages to hold onto the second crate as Kanan and Zeb chase after him.

On a road outside the city, Ezra and his pursuers are spotted by Imperial troops, who add to the chase and begin to fight the rebels. Kanan intercepts Ezra, who insists that the crate is his because he fairly stole it from them. A TIE fighter appears on the scene and begins firing at the group, destroying Kanan’s speeder, and Ezra drives off in another attempt to escape. As he heads towards his communications tower, the TIE fighter successfully destroys his speeder, and Ezra is at its mercy. Suddenly, the Ghost appears and shoots down the enemy TIE fighter, saving Ezra. More TIE fighters approach, and Kanan, now inside the ship, offers to help Ezra escape. Ezra uses the Force to leap into the hovering Ghost with his stolen crate, which shocks Kanan. As the Ghost flees the Lothal and the pursuit of the TIE fighters, Ezra discovers that his stolen crate contains blasters.

Kanan makes his way to the cockpit of the Ghost, where he explains to Twi’lek pilot Hera Syndulla how the operation went on Lothal. Meanwhile, Ezra and Zeb argue about the blasters in Ezra’s stolen crate, and Zeb tosses him into a closet to keep him from causing trouble. Unbeknownst to Zeb, Ezra climbs through an air duct and escapes his confinement. In the cockpit, Hera is impressed by Kanan’s description of Ezra and thinks he would be a useful member of their team, though Kanan disagrees at first. Ezra, trying to escape the air duct, falls into a gun turret on the Ghost and gets his first glimpse of space - and space battle. Kanan and Sabine rush into the gun turrets, with Sabine ending up in Ezra’s turret, in order to fend off the pursuing TIE fighters. They hold off the TIE fighters for long enough, and Hera successfully makes the jump into hyperspace.

Back on Lothal, Imperial Agent Kallus surveys the scene of the crime before revealing to Aresko that this is not the rebels’ first strike on the planet. Agent Kallus senses a pattern to the attacks, and explains the danger of their actions turning into a larger-scale rebellion. Determined to snuff out this spark of rebellion, Agent Kallus makes a plan to stop the rebels the next time they attack the Empire in this way.

As Hera brings the Ghost out of hyperspace, Zeb brings Ezra into the cockpit to make introductions. Ezra is dismayed and demands that the crew take him back to Lothal, which they intend to do, but returning too soon could put the Empire on their trail. Hera explains that the Ghost has a signal scrambler, which can keep the Empire from tracking their movements. Returning to Lothal, the Ghost heads for a slum called Tarkintown, so named for Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin, who controls the entire Outer Rim and has left various farmers to live in poverty. The crew of the Ghost brings the stolen crates into Tarkintown, and Ezra is stunned at the depth of suffering the people are experiencing. Kanan and Hera go off to speak with Cikatro Vizago, a weapons dealer for whom they stole the blasters in return for money and information. Vizago tells the two the location of a group of Wookiees who have been enslaved by the Empire.

Back in Tarkintown, Sabine and Zeb open the remaining crates to reveal food, which they hand out for free to the starving residents. One of the refugees thanks Ezra for his help, and he is surprised and somewhat guilty because he didn’t actually do anything. Returning to the ship, Ezra is drawn in the Force to Kanan’s private quarters, which he wastes no time breaking into. As he rummages around in Kanan’s things, he discovers and pockets a holocron and a lightsaber with a blue blade. Before he can make off with his prize, he is confronted by Kanan and Hera, who in turn have been alerted by Chopper, the ship’s astromech droid. Kanan demands that Ezra return his lightsaber but allows him to keep the holocron, knowing that if Ezra can open and activate it then he has a connection to the Force and the potential to become a Jedi.

After leaving Kanan’s quarters, Ezra runs into Sabine, who explains the rebels’ situation and how they all found each other as a family. Zeb butts in, saying that Kanan needs to speak to Sabine, so Chopper remains behind to keep an eye on Ezra. Kanan explains to the group that Vizago has revealed the location of an Imperial cruiser holding Wookiee prisoners that were loyal to the Galactic Republic before its fall. Kanan begins to outline the plan, and is interrupted when Ezra falls into the room - having snuck back into the air duct system to overhear. Zeb, annoyed, wants to drop Ezra back on Lothal, but Sabine cautions against it because he knows so much about their plan. Hera takes Ezra into the cockpit while the remainder of the crew prepares for the rescue. Once in the cockpit, Ezra is shocked that people would fight so hard against the Empire. The Ghost drops out of hyperspace near the targeted transport, and is immediately hailed to explain its purpose. Hera lies and says that Grand Moff Tarkin has ordered them to transfer an additional Wookiee prisoner to the ship, and the Imperial transport allows the Ghost to dock. Kanan and Sabine, with Zeb posing as their prisoner, explain to the docking agents that the Lasat is actually a hairless Wookiee. The Imperials don’t buy the story, and Zeb quickly knocks them out before they can raise an alarm. Kanan, Sabine, and Zeb, along with Chopper, hurry into the ship to rescue the Wookiees.

Springing the trap, Agent Kallus’ Star Destroyer appears out of hyperspace and pulls the transport ship, along with the Ghost, into its docking bay. Hera tells Ezra he must hurry onto the transport and warn the rest of the crew, but he is wary of the risk it poses to his own life. Hera ultimately convinces him, and Ezra rushes to find the group. The rebels are attacked by Stormtroopers and are forced to flee without finding any Wookiees. Sabine and Chopper, during the chaos of the battle, manage to disable the gravitational system on the ship, which allows the Rebels to escape in the confusion. During the final moments of escape, Zeb shoves himself in front of Ezra, and Ezra is captured by Agent Kallus. The Ghost leaves without Ezra, and the crew detonate explosives they have left on the transport ship, destroying it.

The remainder of the crew meets in the cockpit of the Ghost after the jump into hyperspace, and finally notice Ezra’s disappearance. Zeb initially denies responsibility, but admits that Agent Kallus indeed took him prisoner. Back on Agent Kallus’ Star Destroyer, Ezra is placed in a prison call and told that he will be used as bait for the rebels that escaped. Ezra thinks the plan is foolish, because the group has abandoned him and he does not believe they would risk their operation to rescue him. Agent Kallus leaves along with most of Ezra’s gear, but Ezra realizes he still has the holocron he stole from Kanan. Ezra uses the Force to open up the holocron and discovers a holo message left by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. The message speaks of the rise of the Empire and the dangers Jedi will face under this new regime, implying that it was recorded shortly after the events of Order 66.

Back on the Ghost, the crew argues whether or not to rescue Ezra from Agent Kallus. Zeb and Sabine don’t think the rescue is worth it, because the Imperials will expect them to return and will be ready, but Hera and Chopper both want to mount the rescue regardless. Kanan, holding the tie-breaker vote, chooses to go after Ezra and attempt to rescue him. In his cell, Ezra convinces the Stormtroopers standing guard to come inside, giving him the chance to slip out and lock them in. Ezra heads for a storage room, where he grabs gear and a helmet to conceal his identity and listen to shipboard comms. Over the comms, he learns that the Wookiees are headed for the spice mines of Kessel - and that the Ghost has returned to rescue him. Knowing this, Ezra heads to the docking bay to meet up with the team. As the Ghost makes its escape with Ezra, Sabine detonates an explosion in the hangar, nearly pulling Agent Kallus into space.

The Ghost returns to the safety of hyperspace while Ezra goes to the cockpit to talk to Hera. He explains that he is an orphan and doesn’t have any family waiting for him on Lothal. When others enter the cockpit, Ezra also reveals the location of the Wookiees. The group knows that Kessel is harsh and is essentially a death sentence, so they agree to mount a rescue. Agent Kallus, learning that the helmet Ezra stole had an active comm, realizes that he likely overheard the discussion and will try to rescue the Wookiees on Kessel.

On Kessel, various Wookiee prisoners, including Wullffwarro and his son Kitwarr, are being led toward the mines by a group of Stormtroopers. Before they can get to the mines, the ‘’Ghost’’ sweeps in and begins firing on the Imperials. Hera lands the ship while Kanan, Sabine, and Zeb move to engage the Stormtroopers, leaving Ezra to sneak behind the combat and start releasing the Wookiees. Unshackled, the Wookiees begin to attack their captors, while three TIE fighters join the fray. Hera pilots the Ghost away from the ground combat, drawing the TIE fighters with her, and Agent Kallus arrives with his transport. With so many Imperial reinforcements, the rebels and the Wookiees are forced to duck into cover.

Kanan comes up with a plan against such stacked odds, and tells Hera to perform a 22 pickup, a flight maneuver where the Ghost can quickly pick up a cargo container that the Wookiees take shelter inside. The Imperial force is pressuring the group too heavily for the Wookiees to get to the sheltered containers, so Kanan is forced to activate his lightsaber and reveal himself as a Jedi. Agent Kallus is shocked, but orders his men to fire on the Jedi with a new determination. Using his lightsaber, Kanan deflects incoming blaster bolts while the group makes their escape. Ezra sees that Kitwarr, the young Wookiee, is being chased by a Stormtrooper after fleeing from the combat. In order to save Kitwarr, Ezra calls upon the Force to make a leap over to the Stormtrooper, knocking him over the railing of the deep spice mines using his energy slingshot. Agent Kallus sees Ezra’s use of the Force and assumes that he is Kanan’s Padawan. Hera, executing the 22 pickup, arrives with Kanan in time to rescue both Ezra and Kitwarr before fleeing the planet.

The Wookiees reunite within the Ghost and offer their thanks to the rebels, saying that they will be happy to help if the group ever needs it. The Wookiees leave in their own ship, and Ezra uses the ensuing jolt to swipe Kanan’s lightsaber from his belt. After returning to Lothal, Ezra says his goodbyes to the group and gives Kanan back the holocron - which has been obviously opened. Ezra heads back to his home in the communications tower, and Kanan arrives shortly after. Ezra asks Kanan to explain the Force, and Kanan tells him that it is an energy which binds the galaxy together. Kanan reveals to Ezra that he knows he stole the lightsaber, and gives him two options: keep the lightsaber but remain on Lothal, or return the lightsaber and join the crew of the Ghost. Kanan explains that he could be trained in the Force and learn what it truly means to be a Jedi. After Kanan leaves, Ezra spends time thinking over the decision. Kanan consults the holocron in his own quarters, listening to the entire message from Obi-Wan. The message warns the survivors of Order 66 to avoid returning the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, as they will be caught and killed by the Empire. Obi-Wan concludes with a promise that a new hope will eventually emerge from the darkness left behind by the Empire. Kanan, looking up, sees Ezra standing in the hallway, and Ezra hands back the lightsaber.

Back on his Star Destroyer, Agent Kallus contacts the Inquisitor and tells him that the rebel cell on Lothal is being led by a Jedi. The Inquisitor, keeping to his mission to hunt down surviving Jedi, thanks him for the information.
